The 2012 Nissan GTR is getting more than just cosmetic changes. According to the NAGTROC, the 2012 variant of Godzilla will get a revised chassis and suspension along with a "RWD mode".
The front strut towers have been stiffened, for a more rigid chassis, while the brake rotors are 10mm larger up front. New spring rates, dampers and caster settings will help the handling, along with lighter, forged Rays Engineering wheels. A new tire package from Dunlop will help transfer all that power and grip to the pavement, while an option for Recaro seats (from the Spec-V model) will help keep you in place.
The most interesting option is the 2WD mode, which can turn the car into a rear-drive only machine. The 2wd mode can be activated by pressing the "fuel save" switch for more than 4 seconds, but somehow, we have a feeling that economy will not be the main objective of this kind of driving.


Several photos and a smattering of details about the 2012 Nissan GT-R have leaked online, with the latest selection of details about the mild updates to the 2012 model coming to us via GT-RBlog.

Most noticeable on the 2012 GT-R is a modified front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights. In total, the sleeker bodywork results in a coefficient of drag (Cd) that drops from 0.272 to 0.268. At the same time, downforce has also been improved by 10 percent thanks to a new rear diffuser.

But the best upgrade is easily the new set of Rays wheels, which cut a total of 26.4 lbs of weight from the car where it's most important. Reportedly the new rollers will be offered in both a Hyper Blue Black finish and Hyper Titanium.

Two new paint colors will also be offered, with a stunning Aurora Flare Blue Pearl, as well as another color known as Nebula Opal Black.

A slight price hike is also included for 2012, with an extra 80,000 yen bringing the 2012 GT-R's sticker price to 8,694,000 yen in Japan. U.S. pricing is not yet known.

Théoriquement, la Nissan GT-R cuvée 2011 doit laisser tomber le voile le 18 octobre, ignorant royalement le Mondial de Paris. Prenons un peu d'avance et observons de près la nouvelle GT-R en test sur le Nürburgring complètement nue.
La Nissan GT-R va subir sa première mise à jour officielle en cet automne 2010. Au programme, nous l'avons déjà vu, elle aura droit à quelques updates esthétiques avec notamment l'apparition de feux de jour à leds, de nouvelles jantes ultra légères, de nouvelles couleurs, de quelques reliefs de-ci de-là, d'une calandre modifiée, tout cela au bénéfice de l'aérodynamique. Mieux, les modifications toucheront aussi le châssis et le groupe motorpopulseur dont on ne sait pas encore dans quelle mesure ils auront évolué. Tout ce que l'on sait, c'est que ses évolutions sont assez importantes pour justifier le changement de nom de code modèle. Prometteur.
